EAT / SLEEP / POOP / MOVE
Baby brain development and overall health doesn't need to be a complicated process! Many parents often find that the current medical system does not always set them up for success. Traditional height and weight charts may not be the best way to determine if baby is healthy; and often times does not address underlying stress and illness.
We have found these 4 building blocks to be essential for healing and ongoing, natural, neurologically-focused health and well-being:
1) EAT
The ability to latch, nurse, and breastfeed is an indicator of long-term health for a child. If free of subluxation (misalignment) and interference, this process can begin soon after birth. Breastfeeding provides baby wholesome, essential nutrition from their mothers.
We do understand that there are many circumstances that may arise that can cause a breastfeeding journey to end. At the office, we have a handful of organic, nourishing formulas that we recommend.
2) SLEEP
Nothing like those milk comas babies fall into, oftentimes while still eating!
Sleep is truly the most important early sign of an infant’s brain and overall health development, and if they struggle (colic, reflux, etc.) in this department… it can throw everything else off track as well.
3) POOP
That milk has to make its way through — all the way through!
When a child’s nervous system is functioning optimally, it directs the digestive system to keep the essential nutrients it needs and eliminate the rest. Like sleep, digestive motility is an absolute essential sign to the baby’s brain and health development. If they are constipated and colicky, this is not something they “grow out of” — it will often manifest into other symptoms and challenges as they grow.
4) MOVE
Movement is life. Motor development for an infant and young child is the thing most closely tied to brain and healthy neurodevelopment. When a child’s motor system is jammed up (subluxation) and not working appropriately, they may be delayed in certain motor milestones. These can be common signs of sensory, speech, behavioral, and emotional challenges later in life. Usually, these challenges show up as early as age 2-3, and - just like the digestive issues - aren't something they'll “grow out of'".
